At home, I can almost never successfully make AirDrop work between my iOS devices and Mac, or between my wife's Mac and mine. It is so unreliable that I stopped even attempting to use it. My Apple TV does the spurrious "Living Room (2)", "Living Room (3)" thing as well.

At work the problem is even worse. All of our Apple TVs have multiple entries, some counting up to 12 or higher. There are frequent AirPlay drop-outs. Forget about AirDrop, it's entirely pointless.

I used to be proud to show off what the Apple ecosystem could do, throwing photos and videos to my AppleTV. Dragging and dropping files between computers with zero configuration. Friends and family were always amazed that it just worked. Now it's just an embarrassment.
